Artist Trading Cards

These are a series of ATC's that were created for Dale Rollerson and the Threadstudio's Celebrity Trading Card display. The 1st two are inspired by a Borders shopping bag, fused to wool felt and backed with pelmet vilene. Stitching enhances the image and also creates a resist when the heat tool is applied to age the whole thing. The last card was created with a supermarket shopping bag used for carrying alcohol. Again, stitching enhanced the images and the writing and the heat tool applied. The frog was a little different using a stamped image and acrylic felt to be able to burn right through the sunthetic materials.

These pics are scanned from photos so quality is dubious. Will have to become more adept at uploading from the digital camera. My computer is geriatric by definition but a flash new Macbook may be in the offing which should allow me greater speed and flexibility with this sort of thing.....but I had to get started didn't I?
Both of these pieces are constructed using recycled teabags, machine stitching and other media like paint and metal tape.

Welcome!

My 1st foray into my own website whcih, in time, will display results of my developing work. I am a textile artist who has been 'playing' with some degree of seriousness for a number of years who will be starting formal education for the 1st time in 20 something years...watch this space!
