These Little Piggies went to the market..... at the Hybrid Stylist in Birkenhead. I made these out of upholstery fabric samples given to me from Wendy at Calder Interiors also in Birkenhead. Annie Oxborough is in charge of the Hybrid Sylist who is one of our newest retailers in the old Highbury shopping area and contributing to the eclectic mix of fashion, giftware and eateries. Worth a visit to Hinemoa Street to check out her beautiful flowers and fabulous retro products.....and my pigs. www.hybridstylist.co.nz

Rust never Sleeps

The 1st piece in my 'Rust' series.  Two years ago 'Shore Thing' created a piece called 'Proverbial Quilt'.  It was a blanket covered with strips of bias binding that has proverbs or sayings or old wives tales written on them and attached with a big coloured button and embroidery cotton.  The back revealed the lengths of bright cotton and the front resembled an old Maori cloak.  A pen was attached to allow people to write on the blank pieces of tape.  It was a fun, interactive piece.  This year, we disassembled the piece and selected one of the pieces of tape as inspiration to make another piece ... mine was 'Rust Never Sleeps'.  My mind map went from rust to rusty vehicles to relating the rusty vehicle bodies to human bodies and the effect of ageing on the human mind.

Postcards

So, the idea is to highlight the image you want to upload.  Copy and Paste to an open document, I used Word.  Email it to yourself.  That changed the image to a Png format.  I dragged the image from email onto the desktop and uploaded it the Blog from there.

POST Stitch - Lopdell House Titirangi

I have learnt how to upload an image from a PDF file.  Now I will try and upload the other two postcards that were exhibited at Lopdell House using the same method.  This postcard was sold.
